GameCo
OVERVIEW
GameCo is a fictitious new company that sells video games; is present globally and its most notable markets are North America, Europe, and Japan. The management wanted to learn insights from historical sales data to introduce changes in the marketing budget, if necessary.
OBJECTIVE
The goal of this project was to conduct a descriptive analysis of the data set. So that we can gain a better understanding of how the firm’s new games might perform in the current market. Allowing GameCo to then formulate an effective marketing strategy for the follow year (2017).
Data Summary
This data set is an estimation of sales numbers for each game’s title “released by the console manufacturers and figures estimated by regional trackers” from 1980 to 2016, as well as the game’s genre, platform, publisher, and publishing year.
VGChartz was used as the main source of data when compiling this data set.
